Hearty Greetings on the Occasion of Onam

Greetings!

I am becoming a blogger, too. Why? I have no single answer.

I wanted to become a ‘famous’ writer in my childhood. Later I did write a few notes, articles, and reports and did a few translations (English to Malayalam) which got me ‘famous’ among, maybe, a hundred people or more. The biggest ever compliment I received was when the late Dr Akavoor Narayanan said, ‘If it is written by Jayanthan, I don’t have to edit it’. But he also said, when I presented before him a small note in the form of a poem, ‘Well, er.. Jayanthan, people have a very good opinion about you and your writing…’. He left unsaid the rest, and I converted the note into prose. (Dr Akavoor Narayanan was the Chief Editor of Pranavam, published by Gayathri, a cultural organisation in Delhi, of which I was elected the Secretary once. I wanted to address the members through the magazine when this incident occurred.)

And here I am, in front of you. I shall present before you my dreams, ideas, and experiences. In fact, my eccentricities. Some old, some new. This is not a kind of ‘professional’ blog where people disseminate serious ideas or information. I shall not, however, be averse to writing about professional ideas.

Today is Onam, the most important festival of Kerala. I find no better day to launch this blog.

See you later.

Thank you, Shikha, for helping me out with this attempt.
